Pros and cons of shared web hosting

Pros: One of the biggest advantages of a shared web hosting server is the fact that you can actually set up your website and have it up and running for far lesser and sometimes as much as 10 times lesser than what it would cost you to have a dedicated web hosting server. They are usually bundled with fast setup and they are a very good alternative for anyone who is looking to set up their own website but is not too keen on spending too much. Cons: Since shared web hosting places many web sites on a single web server, the resources available with any one single web site will be limited when compared to that of a dedicated web server.
This is not a very viable option if you are looking to run an e commerce website or a forum or for that matter any website which essentially involves a lot of database interaction. The access to the server itself is limited as any access to the user by the host will make sure that they eat up more bandwidth and server resources for their website when compared to the other website on the shared web server. This is another limiting factor.
